About

Carlo is a political geographer interested in cross-cutting themes around critical ocean studies, the Blue Economy, and the political economy of climate finance and ocean governance. He holds a BA from the University of Naples L'Orientale (Italy), a MA from SOAS, University of London, a MA from the University of Sussex, a PGCert from Durham University and a PhD in Geography from Durham University. He has worked extensively with qualitative methods in the Western Indian Ocean, and the Republic of Seychelles in particular, to explore the politics surrounding the surge of the Blue Economy paradigm as the latest development frontier at the intersection of environmental sustainability, social wellbeing, and economic prosperity.
