Dr. Rashid Sumaila, PhD in Economics, specializes in bioeconomics, marine ecosystem valuation and the analysis of global issues such as fisheries subsidies, illegal fishing, ocean finance, climate change and oil spills. Co-director of the 6-year Partnership, "Solving the Sustainability Challenges at the Food-Climate-Biodiversity Nexus" (Solving-FCB). Has relevant regional and country-level experience and a network that will ensure the findings are of sufficient granularity.

Roles: Co–applicant, with active coordination role of activities across WPs. He will actively participate in research design, methodology, and data analyses of WP3.
