About
Senior Lecturer and Safeguard Information system officer, Dept. of Ecosystems and Conservation and National Carbon Monitoring Centre. Forest Ecologist (PhD) by training, Forest Management (MSc). Studies interactions between humans and ecosystems on earth, with a focus on forest structure, changing agriculture and agroforestry landscapes, and the carbon cycle. Applied research solving grassroots conservation and ecosystem management challenges.
Project management experience: Co-founded and technically advised Reforest Africa. Consultant for restoration, biodiversity, carbon trade, forest stewardship auditing (FSC) since 2008. Has over 50 publications in peer review journals; supervisor of 4 PhD and 10 MSc students; Helped develop 9 funded research projects in Africa and Europe (2015-2023).
Roles: Coordinator for Tanzania across WPs. Participates in research design, methodology, data collection and analyses, and dissemination of results across WPs and co-lead WP4.
